Thomas Stempien, Tom, was born in Chicago Illinois and grew up in a small town, Lilly Lake Wisconsin. He learned at an early age that he loved trying to figure out how things worked.

Tom started programming websites accidently. He joined an online group to play pinochle where he learned how to set up tournaments and design tournament pages. Once he got that taste of HTML and Java Script it was on. He started learning PHP by working with CMS based systems like Joomla and E-commerce systems like Zen-Cart. PHP brought a whole new world of programming to learn. Knowing he reached his limits being self taught Tom enrolled in the Web and Graphics Design program at the Institute of Technology in Clovis California. Throughout his program at I.O.T., Tom achieved the honor of making the Dean's List. Now Tom is excited to be a part of the Web-medics team as their Head Programmer (and resident Orthopedic Surgeon). "I love my job" he says quite often. There are very few things he would rather be doing than being at work writing code.
